Our Story

Alley Katz Unique Antique Emporium is 30,000 square feet of shopping fun! Located on Route 66 at 2805 SW 6th Ave in Amarillo, Tx., Alley Katz has been operating since 1985, after changing the name from Country Coop.

The store, originally two buildings, were both erected in 1924 and were originally store fronts below with apartments above the shops. The upstairs has been many things over the years, including a beauty school (with quarters for the students to live). Walls were cut through and hallways altered so that access to all spaces is a fun maze for shoppers to get lost in. Workers are there to assist the lost, and no one has been left overnight yet.

Alley Katz boasts approximately 40 vendors, each with their own point of view, which makes for a very eclectic mix of merchandise to choose from. The owner, Cindy Miller was first a vendor. She began in the antique business in 1999 and has been at it ever since. Purchasing the store in 2017, Cindy spends most days somewhere close to the store.
Clients come from all over the world to shop on Route 66, with Alley Katz as a fun destination on the route. Come in browse the vendors, you will be surprised what's in store!
